These slides are from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) training on fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA), held on November 20, 2024.

Beginning in FY 2022, this training is required annually for SBIR awardees. 

This training provided detailed information on what represents fraud, waste, and abuse under government programs and funding agreements. The most common mistakes that lead to FWA problems were discussed, as well as the penalties and ways to prevent FWA in your company.
