Suggest a Topic
The U.S. DOT Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program seeks suggestions from small businesses and individuals for potential topic areas for future U.S. DOT SBIR solicitations.
In order for your topic to be considered, you must follow the format below. Please email your topic suggestion to firstname.lastname@example.org, including the following information:
- Your first and last name, organization or business (if any), and contact information (email and phone)
- Topic information, including title of topic, applicable technology area, with keywords
- A statement (200 word maximum) describing why U.S. DOT should select your potential topic area for a future SBIR solicitation
The U.S. DOT SBIR Program Office and/or its participating agencies will consider suggested topic areas in terms of relevance to U.S. DOT and its mission, critical agency requirements, uniqueness of the research topic, and other programmatic priorities. Please note that submitting a suggestion for a potential topic area is not the same as submitting a proposal. Unless there is a need for more information, the U.S. DOT SBIR Program Office will not contact “potential topic” submitters.
Submitters of potential topics areas should monitor future SBIR solicitations on our Solicitations page.
PLEASE NOTE: All information provided for potential topic areas must be non-proprietary and unclassified.
