Peter Jones
Peter Jones has served as a team leader of Volpe’s Workforce Planning and Development Branch for more than 8 years. He also served two previous terms as acting director of the Office of Human Resources (HR).
Under Jones’ leadership, the HR team has partnered with many diverse stakeholders across the Volpe Center to develop and implement innovative programs and policies. He also recently received the Department’s Award for Distinguished Public Service.
Prior to joining the Volpe Center, Jones held executive and managerial roles for several leading human resources consulting firms in the fields of organizational development, talent management, and professional development. In these roles, he has worked with many individuals and organizations ranging from Fortune 50 to smaller firms across diverse industries. Jones started his career with the federal government as a co-op intern from Northeastern University.
A native Bostonian, Jones holds a juris doctor degree, with honor, from Suffolk University Law School and is a member of the Massachusetts Bar. He has a master’s degree from Northeastern University, where he concentrated in organizational behavior and development, and a bachelor of arts degree, with honor, from Northeastern University.
