Salem Maritime National Historic Site - Transportation System Existing Conditions and Transportation Needs Assessment
These reports review the existing transportation conditions in and around the unit and formally identify transportation needs along with suggested next steps to address them. In response to these efforts, the unit submitted a grant application for the Paul S. Sarbanes Transit in Parks Program and received $250,000 in funding. The grant funding will be used to purchase a landing craft to transport small visitor groups to Baker's Island and Light Station, located in Salem Sound. This project was funded by the Federal Lands Highway Park Roads and Parkways Program.
