To highlight opportunities for alternative transportation systems (ATS) on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands, Volpe, The National Transportation Systems Center, has completed an inventory of existing and potential ATS sites. The study team conducted interviews with BLM managers at state and field offices, catalogued existing ATS, and identified sites with the greatest potential for ATS. Results of the inventory—including the operational and financial attributes of existing ATS on BLM lands and the successful elements of these systems—are included in the report.
