Our Shared Transportation Future
General Darren W. McDew
Commander
U.S. Transportation Command
Scott Air Force Base, Illinois
The next 15 years will look different than the last 15 years. What will we do with that knowledge? In this talk, General Darren McDew discussed challenges and opportunities that are coming over the next decade-and-a-half. Will we build on the solid foundation of our relationships and get after the challenges of tomorrow today? Will we find ways to challenge our thinking and norms and identify the people, technology, and processes that will deliver success?
General McDew is focused on evolving the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) in ways that ensure it is able to answer the nation’s call today while preparing for the future.
USTRANSCOM is the single manager for global air, land, and sea transportation for the Department of Defense. The command’s government and commercial partners have delivered on behalf of the nation throughout its 30-year history, and it follows the motto: Together, We Deliver. A transportation community that works together will be able to advocate for tomorrow's capabilities, extend mission assurance in the cyber domain, and address fundamental changes happening in the U.S. workforce.
