Volpe Talks: Transportation Ideas Worth Sharing

For nearly 50 years, the U.S. DOT Volpe National Transportation Systems Center has helped the transportation community navigate its most challenging problems.

As part of the Cambridge Science Festival, come and hear a series of short, live talks direct from Volpe team members working on emerging transportation issues. Talk topics include the following:

  • Maritime Safety and Security Information
  • Transportation Improvements in Sri Lanka
  • Data Visualization for Improving Truck and Bus Safety
  • Automation Technologies for Public Transportation
  • Distraction: The Last Two Seconds of Your Life!

The talks will conclude with a tour of the Volpe train, airplane, and car simulators, showcasing how Volpe is advancing transportation innovation for the public good.

How to Attend

Register through Eventbrite to attend this event in person. The talks will take place from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a tour of the simulators from 10:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Attendance is limited to 50 participants, so be sure to register in advance.

Security Procedures

Adults must provide a valid photo identification (i.e. driver's license, passport) to enter the building. Students should bring a school identification card or driver’s license if available.

Please minimize the number of bags and backpacks to help expedite the security process.
