The U.S. DOT Volpe Center develops innovative applications that are foundational to the national and global transportation network using a systems approach by viewing transportation as a complex, interconnected system. We develop holistic solutions by considering the many components and their interactions.
Our Cross-Cutting Technical Areas
The U.S. DOT Volpe Center collaborates on more than 300 projects each year with sponsors, working towards a better, safer, and more efficient transportation system. Our mission is to transform transportation for all by drawing upon our multimodal, multidisciplinary expertise to improve the nation’s transportation system.
