Department of Interior - Intelligent Transportation Systems in National Parks and Federal Public Lands - 2011 Update

Dozens of federal lands have installed ITS deployments over the past ten years. Volpe updated a 2005 inventory completed for NPS to include all federal land management agencies. Through a series of interviews, the Volpe Center documented park characteristics, as well as the decision making process for instituting ITS programs. The lessons learned are intended to educate federal land units considering ITS implementation going forward.
