Many federal land management agencies receive funding for bus and ferry vehicles without much prior knowledge of the costs associated with those vehicles over their lifespan. To assist these agencies in this process, Volpe developed a series of cost models to help federal land units identify the type of vehicle that will best suit their needs over the entire lifecycle of the vehicle.
