2015 Projects in Progress

Human Factors Considerations in the Design and Evaluation of Electronic Flight Bags
At this time, the FAA is moving away from system specific human factors documentation, and there is currently no plan to update the 2003 document titled, Human Factors Considerations in the Design and Evaluation of Electronic Flight Bags (EFBs). However, a general guidance document published in 2013 titled, Human Factors Considerations in the Design and Evaluation of Flight Deck Displays and Controls, is available that contains the human factors considerations and references that would be relevant to EFB/PEDs. A revision of this document will be available by June 2016.
