National Park Service Alternative Transportation Program- Partnering for Success

The purpose of this project is to summarize the techniques and lessons learned by some National Park units that have been particularly successful in forming partnerships to support planning and implementation of alternative transportation systems (ATS), such as transit systems. The report is based on interviews and other materials gathered from nine National Park units: Acadia National Park, Cape Cod National Seashore, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Grand Canyon National Park, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Mount Rainier National Park, Lowell National Historical Park, Yosemite National Park, and Zion National Park. The report developed from the information collected is to function as a guide to save other parks both time and resources in tailoring partnering techniques to their unique circumstances.
