SBA Expo 2005 - International Networking Event

During the upcoming SBA Expo 2005 in Washington DC, (April 26-28), SBA's Office of International Trade (OIT) will be coordinating a small-scale International Networking event, bringing together a small number of foreign companies in the information and communication technologies (ICT) field with U.S. small businesses interested in considering the international marketplace and/or teaming opportunities.

This is an experimental program to encourage small businesses to explore international market opportunities, and to facilitate dialogue between small businesses on building strategic partnerships (especially regarding government and international development contracting opportunities).

International Participants

Our international participants include four firms in the information technology and communications field: AXG Tecnonexo and Cordoba System Factory S.A. from Argentina, and Raya Integration and IT Worx from Egypt.

• AXG Tecnonexo is an Argentine e-learning firm with offices in both the Washington D.C. area and Argentina. Their 100-plus employees provide solutions for e-learning and online training, and their goals for international networking include research/technology exchange, contracting opportunities, and business-to-business trade. • Cordoba System Factory S.A. is an Argentine software development company with over 12 years of experience and over 600 employees, working in a wide range of languages on development and production projects, including J2EE, C and C++ (Windows, Linux, Windows CE, Palm OS), Microsoft, SAP, Oracle, Financial, and Cobol. • ITWorx is an Egyptian software development company with over 350 employees, focused on IT solutions development and custom application development. They have offices in Cairo as well as Chico, CA, and their interests for international networking include joint venture/partnership, research/technology exchange, government contracting opportunities, and business-to-business trade. • Raya Integration provides IT and telecommunication services for the Middle East and North Africa region, the Gulf region, the Levant, and Africa. With offices in both Egypt and Northern Virginia, Raya Integration provides turn-key IT projects, professional services, networking, value-added reseller services, e-business consulting services, and education services established in cooperation with Microsoft. Also available for face-to-face meetings, for those interested in learning about opportunities related to the U.S.- Chile Free Trade Agreement, will be representatives of the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Embassy of Chile in Washington DC. U.S. exports to Chile have increased by 33 percent since the U.S.- Chile FTA was enacted in January 2004.
