Research Areas
We seek to provide the public with the safest and most secure means of transportation available. Our staff examines nearly every aspect of transportation safety and security. Representative areas of research include engineering, human factors research, mechanics, mathematics, and security issues. To work on complex problems, our researchers form multi-disciplinary teams that enable them to consider the many facets of an issue. The extent and variety of our research is illustrated by the following selected projects.
