Volpe Projects: A Record of Success
Governors Island National Monument
Governors Island National Monument represents a unique piece of the National Park Service's many acquisitions. Formerly owned and operated by the U.S. Army, Governors Island is located in New York Harbor, half a mile from the tip of Manhattan. The Volpe Center is assisting in the organization of the park's General Management Plan (GMP) development efforts, as NPS outlines the proposed roles, objectives, and function of the site. Under the direction of the NPS project manager, Volpe aids with stakeholder meetings and data analysis, and helps with general transportation-centric issues that evolve.
Ongoing as of December 2004
