Using the Department's SBIR Program to Spur Intermodalism
The DOT Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program, which is coordinated by the Volpe Center, recently convened an important program managers meeting at OST. Representatives of OST, RSPA, all other operating administrations, and the Coast Guard participated in this special meeting, which focused on using the SBIR Program as a vehicle to foster intermodalism. This initiative is timely, as the 1996 SBIR Program Solicitation was distributed to small businesses nationwide on February 15, 1996. Featured in the 1996 Solicitation is the Volpe Center's Internet address on the World Wide Web, which will help small businesses to be better informed about the Volpe Center and the DOT SBIR Program.
