Amanda DiFiore, M.A.

Amanda DiFiore is a human factors engineer with a background in psychological research. She holds a Master's Degree in Experimental Psychology (M.A. 1996, Radford University) and is currently completing the requirements for a doctoral degree in Psychology from Tufts University. Ms. DiFiore's previous research experience includes the examination of physiological signs associated with cognition, e.g., EEG correlates of human memory.

At the Volpe Center, Ms. DiFiore lends her expertise to projects in the aviation and railroad environments. She has conducted analyses of air-traffic control (ATC) communications and is now using similar criteria to examine communications by train dispatchers. In addition to her work in communications, she is involved in various other ATC projects sponsored by the FAA's Office of Runway Safety.
