Stephanie G. Chase, Ph.D.

Stephanie Chase is an Engineering Psychologist in the Human Factors Division at the John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center. At the Volpe center, Stephanie lends her expertise to projects within the aviation and the railroad environments. Stephanie's research in aviation has ranged from experimentation of color usage on ATC displays to exploring the usage of driving simulators in ground vehicle operator training. Stephanie is also involved in various air-traffic control projects sponsored by the FAA's Office of Runway Safety. Stephanie's research in the railroad environment includes program evaluation as well as railroad sign human factors.

Stephanie received her doctoral degree in 2003 from Tufts University in experimental psychology. Stephanie's previous research experience includes work in social cognition, which encompasses a wide range of topics in perception, memory, and recall.
