Measurement, Modeling and Analysis

The Volpe Center provides technical support to national and international transportation initiatives through the review, development, and application of state-of-the-art environmental measurement, modeling and analysis techniques, related advisory circulars and guidance manuals, training materials, and other appropriate information. In addition, the Center maintains state-of-the-art laboratory facilities for measuring environmental pollutants produced by transportation systems. Other core capabilities in this area include database and algorithmic development, and computer model validation and calibration.
