Gabriel Lopez-Bernal

Mr. Lopez-Bernal has been working at the Volpe Center as a Student Trainee (Community Planner) in the Transportation Policy, Planning, and Organizational Excellence Division (RVT-22) since February 18, 2009. Mr. Lopez-Bernal is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning with a concentration in Regional Planning, Transportation, and Land Use Issues from Tufts University, Medford, MA (expected May 2010). He also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL (May 2008).

Since Gabe was hired, he has been contributing to a wide range of projects in both the Transportation Policy, Planning and Organizational Excellence Division and the Systems Operations and Assessment Division. He has been supporting the SafeTrip-21 program; projects for the Cape Cod, Fort McHenry and New Bedford National Parks; and the Federal Highway Administration Surface Transportation Environment and Planning (STEP) Cooperative Research Program. Gabe is also looking for opportunities to practice and further develop his civil engineering skills.
