Service Agreement
A service agreement is required to receive the tuition assistance. This service agreement would require the recipient to work at the Volpe Center following the academic period during which they received the tuition assistance. The required service period is computed in workdays based on six times the number of hours required to be spent in class for each course attended for which the Volpe Center has provided tuition assistance.

Appointment
The student will be hired through the Volpe Center's Student Career Experience Program (SCEP), also referred to as the co-op program, under an excepted service appointment.
Work Periods
Since the final selection is typically made in May, the recipient may begin working at the Volpe Center during the summer prior to the start of the fall semester. If the recipient is attending a local school and can work on-site, he/she may continue to work part-time while attending classes.
