Marķa A. Caminos-Medina is the Equal Employment Opportunity Officer at the Volpe Center, as well as National Hispanic Employment Program Manager for the U.S. Department of Transportation's Research and Innovative Technology Administration in Washington.

She is an expert trainer/facilitator of Cultural, Diversity, and EEO Issues Seminars and has extensive experience in public speaking at the local and national levels in both the public and private sectors.

Her background includes holding concurrent positions of Director of Community Relations, Producer, Host, and Newscaster at WNAC-TV, Channel 7, the former CBS affiliate in Boston. She was responsible for producing and hosting a weekly one-hour interview program, a daily newscast in Spanish, and special assignment reports on the English newscasts. Before joining Channel 7, Marķa worked for the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as Director of the Bilingual Information Center. Marķa's expertise also extends to advertising, marketing, and public relations. She was General Manager of a Boston advertising agency and Manager of Operations for the U.S. and the Caribbean at a New York-based advertising agency.

Marķa's professional and civic commitment is exemplified by her far-reaching volunteer involvement with local and national organizations during the last three decades. Among these are: League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) and its National Training Institute; Religious Ed. Teacher, and Choir Member at St. Mark the Evangelist Parish, Londonderry, NH; Cambridge College Board of Trustees; Region I Director, National Image Inc.; the Massachusetts Governor's Advisory Council; Chair, New England Council of Hispanic Employment Program Managers; the Minority Opportunity and Women's Opportunity Committees; North Atlantic Region Council of Equal Opportunity Officers; Boston Partners in Education International Cooperation and Understanding Chair, District 33K, Lions Club International; National Council of Hispanic Employment Program Managers.

She holds a Master's Degree in Education with a Major in Management. Her greatest source of pride is being the mother of five grown children, and grandmother of ten. Marķa and her Colombia-born Civil Engineer husband, Edgard, live in New Hampshire.
