Sathya Balasubramanian is a Computer Scientist from Computer Sciences Corporation working as a software developer in the Air Quality Facility at the John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center. He started working for this group in 2001 and has been working as the lead software developer for Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) System for Assessing Aviations Global Emissions (SAGE) and System for Measuring Airport Air Quality (SMAAQ) projects.
Before joining Volpe's Air Quality group, Sathya has worked as lead developer for several years in the field of systems integration and distributed applications. His background also includes specialized knowledge in both Microsoft and Sun's distributed application technologies. He also acts as the database and system administrator for the SAGE application, handling close to 1 terabyte of data.
