Amanda S. Rapoza

Ms. Rapoza has worked at the John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center, Acoustics Facility since 1991. Her work covers many aspects of transportation-noise research, including the measurement, analysis, and modeling of aircraft noise, highway noise, and locomotive-horn characteristics for the FAA, FHWA, and FRA.

Her work for the FAA has included the analysis of modeling enhancements for INM and the statistical analysis of acoustic and survey data collected in support of research in the National Parks. She is part of the FHWA's TNM development team and has participated in several highway noise measurement programs. She has also served as acoustic project leader for the FRA's highway-railroad grade-crossing safety program, evaluating the effectiveness of railroad warning devices.
